Last March, 99 runners took part in ‘A survey of dietary practices and nutritional knowledge in non-elite marathon runners’
as part of my MSc studies in Nutritional Medicine at the University of Surrey. The study investigated the extent to which the dietary practices of ‘non-elite’, club and network runners training for a spring marathon in 2010 met recognised guidelines for the overall composition of diets for endurance running events. It also identified key sources of nutritional information and knowledge amongst this group of athletes. You find a summary of the study findings here Survey Results Presentation
Following the study I’ll be running an initial half-day introductory workshop ‘Nutrition for Marathon Runners’ in Central London on Saturday 21 January 2012. See our Events pages for more information.
